Eco Friendly Present Wrapping

Zoe's best friend, Riley's birthday party is Saturday. her birthday was yesterday, so we gave her the present she wanted (Scooby Doo Leapster Game) and I forgot to wrap it until yesterday morning.

That admitted, I also am fairly proud of myself for wrapping it so quickly. I think it turned out decent and knowing that her mom is also pretty crafty, I'm sure I'll see it made into something at some point in the future.

OCC Sketch Challenge -OCCSC18

Yay! Naptime was long enough for me to almost get this card done! She woke up, wandered around and by the time I had the last piece pop dotted on, she was fully awake-- but I made it in time! lol.

Over at the OCC Weekly Sketch Blog, they have weekly challenges, and today was the new challenge.

This week's challenge was OCCSC18. This is what the sketch looked like.

My entry turned out pretty cute! I must say I am rather impressed with myself this go round. I sometimes lose track of the original sketch and end up with a hack job at the end when I try to re-manipulate it to make it work. lol.

That's my little helper, Zoe in the back, pointing up to a birds nest where the little baby birds were squaking. She is a great helper! Especially when I get to catch her in some of the photos.
A closer shot of the card:

Recipe:

Lavendar Cardstock, cut to 8.5X5.5 (folded in half, and outer corners rounded)

Floral Patterned paper 4X4.5 (and scalloped on the bottom)

Blue Patterned Scrap 4X3 (layered under floral print paper)

6" ribbon/lace scrap (teal)

one greenish/yellow two holed button

a small piece of see through ribbon, threaded through the button and made the end into a bow.

Happy Birthday, printed on the computer and cut to size

matted on black cardstock

I used my Mini Monograms Cartridge to cut the scalloped circle at 3.5", and the circle at 3" also.

A cupcake stamped onto white paper, cut out and colored in, then pop dotted on.

Brown pigment ink around the edges also

Another Hippo Card

This is a card I made last weekend using the same hippo cut from zooballoo as I did on the hip hippo hooray card.

I used other colors of course and added some extra bling to make this one a little flashier. I also embellished the inside, which I don't normally do.

The card says 'Hippo Birdie to you!' so I used the quail cut from Zooballoo also, since I had to have a bird, with another core'dinations color, I used the whitewash stack for the quail and the core collection for the hippo plus the face and wing of the quail. Plenty of sanding later, and a few rhinestones as eyes and we had the look I was going for.
I used PTI (http://www.papertreyink.com/) cardstock as the base; as well as their polka dot parade patterned paper on the inside and front.

This is the final look of it. I was on a first birthday kick since last weekend would have been Knox's first birthday, so I sort of made this card with him in mind, even if I can't watch him knaw on it and chew it to pieces. :-)

Stamp is from Studio G, all the paper is either PTI or Core'dinations.
Enjoy!
Also, feel free to let me know if there is anything *you* would like to see me make, if anyone reads my blog anyways! :-)
