Orange & Creme Wedding Card

My best friend, Steph is going to a wedding this weekend; and the colors for the wedding are Orange and Creme. She asked me to make a card that would go with the wedding colors, and I was thrilled to oblige. Our [original] wedding colors, incase you don't know were also Orange and Brown; but Orange was sort of sidelined when I stumbled upon the girls attire, and boys attire and changed my mind a week or two before the wedding. :-) Our colors ended up being Purple and Green.

Anywhoo, the background paper I used for this card was actually the inside of one of our wedding invitation envelopes, I just cut to size (since our invites were 6X6 I had plenty to work with).

The orange is from PTI-- Cream is from my stash, and the little prima flowers were from last years CK Scrapbooking Convention (which I AM also going to tomorrow!!).

I popped up the cake for some dimension, and I know you can't tell (becuase that was the goal) but I put a piece of cream cardstock under the satin ribbon since you could see the pattern through it.

I also chose to line this card (which I don't do very often) since it is for a wedding, I wanted to make sure the writing inside could be easily read.

I am hoping to post some photos of the CK Scrapbook Expo tomorrow, I'll probably spend some time at Lila's Booth since she is down there also, and I've been saving my pennies since I found so many great deals last year, I didn't want to have to hold back!

Talk with you soon!

Wedding Cards & A Wedding Layout

This morning has been pretty easy going (at least for me) this morning. Zoe was up bright and early, but played nicely next to our bed while we continued to sleep! I made some muffins, and Zoe is now napping while Adam is out mowing the lawn. Like I said, I have the easiest morning today!
I've been feeling quite 'wedding' motivated. Which is a good thing, because I have pictures for years of our recent wedding to scrapbook. This is the second layout I've actually gotten done, because I felt like doing it. The section with scripture is from my Rusty Pickle, Princess Bride Quotes. Lucky for me, that Pastor Jimmy (an awesome family friend who lead Knox's Service, and we asked if he would marry us also) read this scripture during our ceremony. I hadn't heard it, but now think it's just beautiful!
Here is what the whole layout looks like. I think I'm going to stick with very classic, and a little vintage designwise for our wedding scrapbook. I also haven't made any wedding cards, and stumbled upon this stamp while I was cleaning up my area this morning, and decided to run with it. So I did. I LOVE how this blue card turned out. It will be up on Etsy shortly! This one is adorable also, and very sparkly!! On the inside it reads, very simply 'Wedding Wishes' but doesn't have any of the scalloped decor around the wording.

The stamp I used on both cards is from Studio G in the $1 bin from Lila's Scrapbooking.

Have a good Sunday everyone! Once Zoe wakes up, we're going to be heading out for a BBQ at a wonderful park in Everett for Mothers and More.

Hawiian Wedding Card and update!

It's been a few days since I have really had a chance to sit down and get a post or project up here. With potty training going on, and all of the other hectic events life brings, this is my first real chance to sit down on the computer!
I can say I think Zoe is basically potty trained. She hasn't had but a handful of accidents since we started and I think it helps I waited until she was beyond ready.

Last night, mommy and daddy had the night off, Zoe stayed over at her nana's house so we could go watch sprint cars at the speedway, but of course being that we live in western washington- it was rained out. No crisis for me, I didn't mind sitting at Don's diner and enjoying a taco salad and then coming home and doing some crafting while Adam worked on his car.

Most of you know, my brother is getting married in July, and they are going to Maui to do so! We're going with and calling it our honeymoon even though it's about a month after our wedding. Over on Lauren's Creative she made a gorgeous tropical wedding card a while back, and motivated me to make one too! In my lifetime I can count the weddings I've been to on one hand, and now that I'm in my 20's it seems they are rolling up all the time! Anywhoo, this is the card I made for my brother and his bride to be.

I used the Sweet Treats Cartridge, and paper from Green at Heart. The card base is Raspberry Fizz from Papertrey Ink the little flowers are from Jolee's and I got them at Lila's Scrapbooking. Ribbon is from Abbey Road.

The cake is cut at 4 inches and assembled with Scotch Quick Dry glue, since I couldn't find my Zig 2 way glue pen!

Today, I'm headed to Snoqualmie Falls to take another set of engagement pictures for my brother and his fiance. I'm looking forward to getting some shots of the falls as well. Maybe if I get a chance, I'll stick some photos of that up tonight.
